A new dawn in web development
On 2nd July 2009, the World Wide Web Consortium announced that XHTML 2 Working Group charter, which expires at the end of 2009, will not be renewed. The W3C will instead concentrate its resources on HTML 5. W3C hopes to accelerate the progress of HTML 5 and clarify W3C’s position regarding the future of HTML.
This announcement came days after Google’s VP of Engineering Vic Gundotra in his keynote (May 27 2009) at Google I/O, said “we’re betting big on HTML 5.”
In a nutshell, HTML5 is the way to go.
According to some commentators, HTML5 has the potential to render Adobe Flash, Microsoft’s Silverlight and other similar technologies obsolete.
This Blog aims to demonstrate how we will be building web pages using next-generation techniques from HTML 5 and CSS 3.
